Sunday ~

"I said: 'Let me walk in the field;'
God said: 'Nay, walk in the town;'

I said: 'There are no flowers there;'
He said: 'No flowers, but a crown.'"

"I said: 'But the sky is black,
There is nothing but noise and din;'

But He wept as He sent me back,
'There is more,' He said, 'there is sin.'"

"I said: 'But the air is thick,
and fogs are veiling the sun;'

He answered: 'Yet souls are sick,
And souls in the dark undone.'"

"I said: 'I shall miss the light,
and friends will miss me they say;'

He answered me, 'Choose tonight,
If I am to miss you, or they.'"

"I pleaded for time to be given;
He said: 'Is it hard to decide?

It will not seem hard in Heaven,
To have followed the steps of your Guide.'"

"I cast one look at the fields,
Then set my face to the town;

He said: 'My child, do you yield?
Will you leave the flowers for the crown?'"

"Then into His hand went mine,
And into my heart came He;

And I walk in a light Divine,
The path I had feared to see."

Psalm 37:3-7

Recap...

        Sitting here thinking back on the past couple weeks. God really showed himself strong to over 2,000 attendees of the Big Sandy regional conference. Logistically speaking, everything that could go wrong went wrong, ...or so it seemed. One thing lead to another and pretty soon the overwhelming feeling was right there in my face. I like to call these Character building opportunities! It's hard to see it that way when your going through it though. God had different plans for this conference. So many people were blessed and grateful and the atmosphere was alive with energy from speakers as well as encouraged families. I wonder if anyone even noticed what was going on behind the scenes. I walked away from Big Sandy in awe of what God can do through a seemingly fix-less mess. All of the staff were rug beat but agreed that it was definitely a work of God.
        Even in the busy times, times that aren't convenient, opportunistic or self-supportive, I know God wants that everyday one on one time. Even in the busiest times of of the conference I felt the need to get away from it all and just spend that time alone. It was what I needed and it was amazing how that every day, God would specifically give me a verse to go along with a situation or problem that came up. Just showed me how much we can plan our own way,... but its God who directs our steps. I'm truly thankful for blessing last week in Big Sandy and what he is teaching me everyday.
