So today I set off on a walk when I noticed a Pied Bill Grebe that was swimming along the edge of the Shore line! That's when I remembered rule #1, never take a walk without your camera unless it's pouring cats and dogs... the fact was that it was pouring rain earlier today and I didn't know when it would kick up again. I ran home and grabbed the camera and headed back out to see if I could find my little friend again.
The Pied Bill Grebe is a little brown water bird that is extremely shy much like a Loon or small Heron.
I did end up seeing him once or twice again but he was way out of reach for my lens. So I resorted to just watching him until he was gone, then I went back trying to capture shots of ducks and squirrels. Again, the challenge came in being able to get close enough to make a good shot. :) I also played around with some water shots as well.
God has been so good, I realize that I thank Him far less often then I should for even just the ability to get up in the morning and breathe. Even though in my eyes Life doesn't always seem to cooperate, God has the big picture and we can trust in that He will lead us even if the way doesn't make sense or seem clear. Keep trusting the Lord and commit your ways to Him and He will bring it to pass.
The end of winter and the beginning of spring is one of those times that can take you by surprise. One day the sun can be shinning and the birds singing like winter is a long forgotten past time and the next it can be snowing with a forecast of several inches... :) But in every icicle is a drop of rain and we know that warmer weather is right around the corner. In some ways I hate to the snowflakes all disappear but, I cant wait for the new growth that spring will bring. I am just really reveling in the faithfulness of God, it's new for me every morning along with His mercy. And I think I so often take it for granted. But even though people and the season change around us, I can trust Him who changes not.
